What are some life skills you would love for your kids to have before they leave home?
Today, Rob and I share ours. Rob and I spoke about what it is we want our kids to leave the house with one day (we are in no rush).
Inqis not easy. But Rob and I have decided to raise our son’s and daughter’s with values, morals, principles, self-love, self-worth, confidence and unconditional love, Others might perceive this as wrong, as weak or stupid, but we don’t ever live our lives based on what people think or do.
We need for our squad to leave home one day fully equipped with Life skill that is necessary or desirable for full participation in everyday life.
Let’s define Life Skills:
Life skills are abilities for adaptive and positive behaviour that enable humans to deal effectively with the demands and challenges of life. This concept is also termed as psychosocial competency.
“Sharing with a sibling can help children learn important life skills”
One of our motto’s as parents is to ensure we raise good, solid and whole individuals so that we don’t end up with broken adults.
Certain things would apply to our sons and not our daughter’s and vice versa. But the day the squad leaves the house we want them to be ready for world. We want them to be whole individuals who loves and value themselves.
The life lessons we need our squad to have before they leave home:
1. How to manage money.
2. Have their own bank accounts with a good amount of savings saved up.
3. How to be a self starter.
4. How to manage your time.
